Even
though stamping is at our very core of most everything we love to create,
sometimes it’s fun to challenge ourselves to try something new and completely
different. Craft challenges have become very popular on the web and many
of our Journey Coaches participate in them weekly. Today we tried to create
a card only using die cut outs, and I think we absolutely met the
challenge! There are tons of fun and different elements happening in this
card.
The card starts out with a Whip Cream Cardstock base, very neutral since we will be adding lots different textures and 3D elements. We used the Yummy Dots embossing folder for some added interest in the background. Die cut a piece of Pool Play using the focal point of the card and then we will begin adding our die cut flowers.

The flowers are cut with the Daisy Blooms die using Pretty Amethyst and Grape FusionCardstock. Slightly curl your petals and then stack them for beautiful full flower!. The leaves are made with Lemongrass cardstock, but use a special technique. So we do have to admit that we did use a little stamping. We used the leaf from the Summer Filled stamp set and stamped with Lemon grassink, however it almost dries clear on the corresponding cardstock. Fussy cut the leaf and then using a mouse pad and the medium stylus on the bloom tool, etch the vein in the leaf.
Now on to the embellishments! Die cut the script love using the same Snapshot Framesdie. This die set actually comes with a few other super cut dies. View now! Loop some Black Journey Twine before placing your flowers and save the twine scrapes for the next step. Next, we thread some Black Journey Twine into the Black & White Buttons from the amazing Journey Girlcollection and place them in the center of the our flowers. Lastly, add CutRhinestones for a little sparkle!
